Bella Richi

CEO

Bella Richi, MA Ed. (2012), CDA (90 ECE credits), has operated Bella's Creative Learning Center (BCLC), a home-based childcare service in South and Central Seattle, for 41 years. Over these 41 years, BCLC has collaborated with municipal, state, union, nonprofit, civic, educational, and healthcare partners to successfully deliver high-quality, culturally relevant programs and children's advocacy to over 37,300 low- to middle-income parents and children of color in the Seattle-Tacoma Metro Area.

Beginning in 2022, Bella Richi will serve on King County's Best Starts for Kids (BSK) Initiative Childcare Wage Boost Work Group. Additionally, starting in 2022, she will serve on the Board of the King County Developmental Disabilities and Early Childhood Support Division. Since 2019, Bella has been a Lead Mentor in Imagine Institute's Imagine U program. She is currently in the process of being certified as a WA State DCYF State-Approved Trainer for childcare providers. From 2018 to the present, Richi has served as a facilitator for BSK's Ages and Stages training for parents, providers, and community stakeholders.

Donald Sanford

CO Founder

Mentor, Life Coach, and Community Advocate Donald Sanford is a dynamic mentor and life coach who specializes in strengthening marriages, fostering personal development, and guiding individuals in building purposeful lives. With a compassionate and holistic approach, Donald helps clients navigate the complexities of relationships and personal growth, empowering them to create thriving partnerships and achieve their life goals. Beyond his coaching practice, Donald is deeply committed to giving back to his community. He dedicates time to distributing food, clothing, and household supplies to those in need, embodying his belief in the power of service and connection. His outreach efforts have made a lasting impact on countless families, reflecting his unwavering commitment to uplifting others. In his downtime, Donald channels his creativity as a music composer, blending his love for melody and rhythm into an expressive art form. Whether coaching clients, serving his community, or composing music, Donald’s life revolves around inspiring and supporting others in every way he can. His dedication to personal and collective growth has made him a respected figure in both his professional and local communities, exemplifying his mission to help others thrive in all aspects of life.

Scharisha Sanford

Director of Operations

Scharisha Sanford is a passionate and experienced Director of Operations with a proven track record in community organizing and service. Throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly to address critical social issues, including homelessness, food insecurity, and providing access to essential resources such as clothing. Scharisha is also deeply committed to supporting individuals with mental illness, helping them navigate recovery, reintegrate into society, and secure stable employment. With a strong heart for children, Scharisha is an advocate for those in the foster care system, offering support and resources to help them build brighter futures. Her extensive background in administration has allowed Scharisha to effectively assist medical and academic PhD researchers with managing complex projects, contributing to research journals, and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical and academic tasks. Outside of her professional endeavors, Scharisha enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children. A passionate traveler and home cook, she loves exploring different countries and cultures, bringing new culinary experiences into her kitchen. Scharisha's exceptional combination of leadership, compassion, and organizational skills enables her to make a lasting impact in every community she serves.

Bertha Morris

Work for state of Washington department

Bertha Morris worked for the State of Washington Department of Labor and Industries for 32 1/2 years, assisting injured workers and veterans. She also spent 22 years at Bella Creative Learning Center, specializing in infant care, cooking, driving, and maintaining food program records. Additionally, she served as a trainer for five years with Best Starts for Kids, focusing on Ages and Stages training for providers, parents, and community stakeholders. Bertha also volunteered for two years delivering food to senior citizens through St. Mary's Food Bank.
